Goals

Now that you have begun your year as a 4th grader it's time to develop some personal goals. First, you have to understand what a goal is. In your own words, I want you to give me a "kid friendly" definition of what you think a goal is. Once you have defined it I want you to come up with 3-5 personal and academic goals that you would like to focus on this year.  You need to be specific with your goals and don't write things like, "I want to do better in Math."  That isn't a specific enough goal to work on. Be sure to leave your answer as a comment, to help I would first write your response into a Microsoft Word Document so you can check your spelling and grammar.

Dear Mr. Moore

I think goals mean how good you did in something like a test we need goals to tell us how we did and see what we are good at and tell us what we are bad at so we practice what we are bad at so we can be good at that like if I’m bad at math then I would practice my math at Home or at School.

A goal is to get better at something that you are not good at and I need help with my division and times tables and spelling words right and I also need help with thinking about what I say first cause sometimes when I talk I sound weird and I need help talking sometimes and when I talk to new people I get shy when I first meet them.

Dear Mr. Moore

A goal is what you want to do in your min but you aren’t doing. You don’t have to right your goal don on a slip of paper you just have to remember it, like when you want to get a drink of water, that’s a goal. Lots of simple things are considered a goal .You can’t live without goals sleeping, is a goal. breathing is a goal. Eating is a goal . You always think
About what you do be for you do it, that is a goal.

Dear, Mr. Moore

I think a goal is something that you are interested in or something you really want to do. It also means to look forward to something.

My goal this year is to learn how to spell bigger words than last year, I really want to learn how to read bigger and harder words and books, and I would love to do better at division and multiplication.

Dear Mr. Moore,
I think that goal means to work on something.
For example if I had problems with math. Then I should work on my math so I can get better. So I should practice on my math so I can make my math better. So I can do well on a math test. And on a reading or a writing test a can make corrections and write, right words when I am making a story or a sentence, so I can make corrections. And my goals I would like to work on my times tables on my nines and eights.

Sincerely your student, Claire
