What we did today January 5th, 2009

Today the first thing we did was rearrange the desks in different rows. Then, Dr. Rineheart came and helped us work on our Arizona studies opera. Next, was recess time. It was a rainy day schedule. So instead of going outside for break we stayed inside for break and we were aloud to hang out with our friends and eat our snacks for 15 min. After we were done we did some math. This time in math we learned about a new technique for division. It is called partial quotients. We did our spelling pretest and made out our class rules.

Long Division!

We have started to practice our long division method of D.M.S.B. or if you need help to remember, dirty monkey's smell bad! This simply stands for Divide, Multiply, Subtract, and Bring down. We still need plenty of practice with this method; I think that knowing your multiplication facts is the best thing you can do for yourself if you want to make this any easier.

Grinch Performance

Today we had a chance to watch both Ms. Martinez and Mrs. Cunha 1st grade classes perform the Grinch. Wow! I certainly hope that our 4th grade opera is half as good as the effort that they all put into their show. Thank you to both classes for setting such good examples for the rest of the school.
