Today we had a chance to help Mr. Patric plant some winter flowers into the garden beds out side the front office.  Home Depot donated the flowers and the students had a great time helping out!  Thank you students, Mr. Patric, and Home Depot for helping make our school such a beautiful place to learn.

What we did today

We had a DOL test, we read Whales on Stilts as a read aloud. We played the over and up game in Math. Our special was Art. We wrote a letter to our parents telling them what we did today. Spelling test with bonus words. We earned 6 marbles. On Tuesday we are going to watch President Obama's speech.

What we did today

In social studies we made our new folders. We started off by writing down Geography definitions. In math we started to learn about line graphs. The measure time against information. We had a fire drill this morning. We had Library for our specials. National Geographic is our new periodical for the week. Our read aloud was Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing. We did some silent quiet reading and we had spaghetti for lunch.

On Friday, Walker student council invited the entire school to come together for the last Pep-Assembly of the year. The Walker Wolf was there dancing his tail off to some rocking good music. We also recognized and celebrated some teachers who are retiring this year. Ms. Ford, Ms. Jo, Ms. Daily, and Ms. Hartline we will miss you very much and appreciate all that you have done for this school. Ms. Martinez and her dance club put on another fantastic performance which everyone enjoys! The "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" game was a lot of fun to be apart of. Can't wait to see what Student Council has in store for next year.

AIMS Testing

What do you think was the toughest part about AIMS testing all together? If you could do something differently what would it be? What do you think was positive about the experience? Today was the day that two students where randomly selected to receive a new bike. This of course was based off of a 4th grade challenge to the students to see how much they could read each week over the course of about a month and a half. AAron from our class turned in 5 slips and turned out to be the winner for the boy bike. Congratulations AAron and keep up the good reading!
